Club Rules

Cet article est disponible également en Francais

Article 1: Respect of people

Badminton Lachine is an association that respects sports spirit and ethics. This is why all unsportsmanlike, abusive, sexist or racist remarks will be sanctioned by a warning and immediate and definitive exclusion from the gymnasiums.

Article 2: Respect of facilities and equipment

Players must practice with non-marking shoes, specially designed for indoor sports and exclusively reserved for indoor use (maintaining the cleanliness of the gymnasium). Winter boots are not permitted in gymnasiums. Players are responsible for their racquet. The plastic shuttlecocks are provided by the club and must be returned to the facilitator at the end of the evening. Any damage to equipment or facilities caused by a player could be charged to him.

Article 3: Singles and Doubles Play

At all times, priority is given to doubles play. However, when more than one court is vacant, singles play will be allowed.

Article 4: Use of courts

A facilitator provides management inside the gymnasium during the evening using, if necessary, a rotation table. This table is used to allow all members to practice badminton fairly. A rotation of players on the pitches is therefore compulsory and, after each match, the players must withdraw from the pitch, even if other pitches are free. No member or group of members is entitled to appropriate the same court for the whole evening or a major part of it.

Article 5: Point system

The international 21-point point system will be in effect. Members play a 21 point game and then leave the field to return to the queue.

Article 6: Responsibilities

Any minor is under the full responsibility of his legal representative outside training hours. Parents must ensure the presence of a facilitator in the room at the start of the session before leaving their child there. Children under 16 can only play badminton during the time slots allocated to them.
reserved. Even if they are accompanied by their parents, they are forbidden to play during the time slots reserved for adults. The club declines all responsibility:
– in the event of an incident or accident involving a player who is not a member or guest of the club;
– in the event of an accident due to non-compliance with instructions or regulations;
– in the event of theft or loss of personal property.
The club recommends not leaving any personal effects or valuables in the changing rooms during badminton times and events.

Article 7: Guests

The club accepts guests when attendance permits. The guest must comply with the rules. Before beginning to play, guests must pay the host the guest fee, as established by the Board of Directors. The host can accept, limit the number or refuse guests depending on site traffic. Club members always have priority when it comes to playing time.
Failure to comply with these rules (except for article 1 above) will result in the expulsion of the person at fault after two warnings from the facilitator.

Article 8: Penalties

Any repeated breach of these regulations, freely accepted by the club member, will result in the liability of the offender. He will first be warned, then if necessary excluded (temporary then permanent exclusion) with or without reimbursement of his subscription, after deliberation by the club committee.

Article 9: Object and modifications

The following regulations complete the registered statutes of the Club of Badminton Lachine, as well as the rules of use specific to the gymnasiums of the Collège Sainte-Anne. Each member (and the legal guardian for minors) must read these different texts and respect the instructions.
These regulations may be modified by the Board of Directors, which will then have them approved at a general meeting.

Article 10: Refund Policy

Refund requests for registration fees will be accepted during the first two weeks of the current season. The refund amount will be pro-rated to the amount paid for the session or year. No reimbursement of administration fees. After this time, no refund request will be accepted for the current season, except for medical reasons, with supporting evidence. The refund amount will be calculated as mentioned above. Allow a minimum of 10 business days to receive the refund. The refund will be made by the credit card used during the initial payment if it is still valid. Otherwise, it will be by cheque. However, additional delays are to be expected.
Refund requests should be emailed to: remboursement@badmintonlachine.com
Any inquiries for additional information should be directed to the club treasurer.

Article 11: Zero tolerance

It is strictly forbidden to possess, consume or traffic in alcohol and illicit substances (drugs, steroids, etc.) within the Club of Badminton Lachine, under penalty of sanctions.
Sanctions may include temporary or permanent suspension, loss of financial assistance from the Lachine Badminton Club, reporting to the relevant authorities (parents, police, school, badminton associations, etc.), disciplinary measures, etc.

Article 12: Pictures

During activities organized by Badminton Lachine or during which members of Badminton Lachine participate, photos may be taken by parents and club volunteers. These photos may eventually be used on websites, in newspapers and in advertising campaigns to promote badminton or to publicize an event related to the club. By registering, you accept that the club uses these photos taken of your children. However, you can request that the photos that concern you be erased by sending a request to medias@badmintonlachine.com
