Club rules
Twelve articles supporting respectful, fair and safe sessions.

Article 1 — Respect for people
Badminton Lachine upholds sportsmanship and sporting ethics. Unsportsmanlike, insulting, sexist or racist remarks may result in a warning or immediate and permanent exclusion from the gyms.
Article 2 — Facilities and equipment
Non-marking indoor sport shoes reserved for indoor use are mandatory. Winter boots are not allowed in the gyms. Players are responsible for their racquets. Plastic shuttles supplied by the club must be returned to the gym supervisor after the session. Damage to equipment or facilities may be charged to the person responsible.
Article 3 — Singles and doubles
Doubles have priority. Singles are allowed when several courts are available.
Article 4 — Court use
The gym supervisor manages the session and may use a rotation board to ensure fair access. After each game, players leave the court and rejoin the queue, even when other courts are free. No member or group may occupy the same court for all or most of a session.
Article 5 — Scoring
The international 21-point system applies. After a 21-point game, players leave the court and return to the queue.
Article 6 — Responsibilities
Minors remain under the responsibility of their legal guardian outside training hours. Before leaving a child, a parent must confirm that a gym supervisor is present. Players under 16 may play only during their designated times, not during adult sessions, even with a parent.
The club is not responsible for incidents involving a person who is neither a member nor a guest, accidents caused by failure to follow instructions or these rules, or lost or stolen personal belongings. Members should not leave valuables in changing rooms.
Article 7 — Guests
Guests are accepted when attendance allows and must follow these rules. Before playing, they pay the fee set by the Board to the gym supervisor. The supervisor may accept, limit or refuse guests according to court use. Members have priority. Except under Article 1, a person who fails to follow the rules may be removed after two warnings.
Article 8 — Sanctions
Repeated breaches may lead to a warning followed by temporary or permanent exclusion, with or without a membership refund, after consideration by the club committee.
Article 9 — Purpose and amendments
These rules supplement Badminton Lachine’s bylaws and Collège Sainte-Anne gym rules. Members and legal guardians of minors must read and follow them. The Board may amend the rules, subject to approval at a general meeting.
Article 10 — Refund policy
Registration refund requests may be made during the first two weeks of the season. Refunds are prorated based on the amount paid for the session or year; administration fees are non-refundable. After that period, requests are accepted only for a medical reason with supporting documentation. Allow at least 10 business days plus any additional processing time. Refunds are issued to the original payment card if still valid, otherwise by cheque. Send requests to remboursement@badmintonlachine.com; additional questions may be directed to the club treasurer.
Article 11 — Zero tolerance
Possession, consumption or trafficking of alcohol or illicit substances, including drugs and steroids, is strictly prohibited within the club. Sanctions may include temporary or permanent suspension, loss of club financial assistance, reporting to the appropriate authorities or other disciplinary measures.
Article 12 — Photographs
Parents and volunteers may take photographs during activities organized by Badminton Lachine or involving its members. These photographs may be used to promote badminton or a club-related event. Registration signifies acceptance of this use by the participant or, for a child, their legal guardian. A removal or deletion request may be sent at any time to info@badmintonlachine.com.
