Our history
2010 — Badminton returns to Lachine
As organized badminton in Lachine was declining, Stéphane Fortaich revived activities with volunteers who would lay the club’s foundations.
2011 — Badminton Lachine is founded
Badminton Lachine officially became a nonprofit organization. Its first directors and volunteers gradually structured the organization and its sports offering.
The early years — Building the programs
Youth groups gradually became organized by level: beginner, intermediate, competitive and elite. The club also developed coaching for adult players.
2013 — Growing involvement in competition
The Invitation Lachine became a stop on Badminton Québec’s provincial adult circuit. The club also became involved in the Jeux du Québec and regional development.
Today — A community that renews itself
Over the years, young club players have become gym supervisors, assistants or coaches themselves. This continuity among players, coaches and volunteers remains one of Badminton Lachine’s strengths.
